Gerald W. “Jerry” Priebel, 86, of Mars, formerly of Cranberry Township and Penn Hills, passed away on Saturday morning, November 29, 2025.
Born in Elkton, Maryland on November 16, 1939, Jerry was the son of Elmer Atwood and Angeline Guns Priebel.
Jerry lived a life marked by kindness, hard work, and deep devotion to family. Those who knew him remember his calm, steady demeanor and wonderful sense of humor.
Jerry began his professional career with successful employment at Koppers, and Perfection Photo Co., where he excelled at computer programming and data analysis, modernizing the company’s accounting and payment systems. An entrepreneur at heart, he took a major risk in 1979 by opening World Wide Stereo in the North Hills, a successful business he owned for over 40 years.
When not at work, Jerry enjoyed many hobbies. Most summers, he was on his boat on the Allegheny River, taking his family waterskiing. In the fall, Jerry was a dedicated armchair Steeler fan, where game time was sacred. When winter closed, he and Judy enjoyed vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, their home away from home for over 40 years. Jerry was also an avid classic car collector, winning numerous first place trophies at car shows. His Plum Crazy Challenger even appeared in MOPAR Magazine and in the movie Bounty Hunter.
Jerry’s greatest love was his wife, Judy, of nearly 65 years, closely followed by his family, which meant everything to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith K. Mihm Priebel; his three children: Robert A. Priebel (Hillary), Pamela A. Sipe (Lynn), and Linda P. Logsdon (Robert); and his brother, Phillip J. Priebel (Joan). He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer A. Priebel and Angeline M. Priebel; and his brother, E. Allen Priebel.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren:
Kirsten Wagner (Richard) and their daughters Maeve, Nora, and Quinn
Lauren Hunter (Patrick) and their sons Logan and Brooks
Jeffrey Logsdon (Michelle) and their son Tucker
Brady Sipe (Autumn)
