George Briercheck Obituary

George Michael Briercheck, age 85, of Rock Hill, S.C., formerly of Wexford, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, PA, Mr. Briercheck was the son of the late George Stephen Briercheck and the late Anna Szwed Briercheck.  He played high school football and baseball. Mr. Briercheck graduated from the University of Pittsburgh while working full-time at Westinghouse. Over the span of his 31-year career with Westinghouse, he was employed as an engineer, salesman and business executive. He then moved south to finish his career at Industrial Battery & Charger where he supported the backup power needs of the region along with forming many lasting friendships. He was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Lake Wylie.

Mr. Briercheck was an avid sailor of catamarans and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He loved building, flying, crashing and re-building model airplanes of all sizes and enjoyed discussing current events and history.  He was passionate about sharing his love of flying with young people and would want to encourage others to explore the wonderful world of flying. Mr. Briercheck shared a love of meeting new people and creating new memories.
