Gary Heyl Obituary

Gary E. Heyl, age 68, of Evans City, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2021.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 17, 1953, he is the son of Bill and Helen Heyl of Gibsonia.

Gary worked in construction. He was very skilled and hardworking and took great pride in providing for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed nature and the outdoors, including fishing, golfing, and gardening. He was always busy fixing and tinkering with his model trains and other things around the house. Gary loved cooking, watching hockey and football, and playing board games with his wife. He was quick witted and full of useless information, but you would want him on your trivia team. Above all else, Gary loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Ellen Weaver Heyl, who he married on October 22, 1976; two children, Michael (Shannon) Heyl of Renfrew and Dannaye (Adam) Lott of Lower Burell; Pappy to Chazz and Colin. Brother of Beth (David) Kriberney of Butler; brother-in-law to Steve (Kathy) Weaver, Maureen Peck (Gary Kirkpatrick), Michael (Sheryl) Weaver, and Bryan (Diane) Weaver. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Kathy and her husband, Doug Myers.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Monday from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd.
