Francis L. "Frank" Tacik

Francis L. “Frank” Tacik, age 77, of Gibsonia, Adams Twp., passed away on Monday morning, July 2, 2018 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.

Born on October 12, 1940 in Glassport, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Mularz Tacik.  He graduated from Duquesne University with a B.S. in Business.

Frank was a retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Air Force at the 911th Air Lift Wing.  He had served from 1970 through the Vietnam War, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Highland Park.

Surviving are his wife, Eloise Jackson Tacik, who he married on August 19, 2005, two sons, Brian Tacik (Beth Mroz) and Kevin Tacik, both of Chicago, a daughter, Amy Shine (Brian) of Ross Twp., grandfather of Olivia, Oscar, Emma and another granddaughter due in October,  a brother, Donald Tacik (Dinean) of Mansfield, Ohio, two step nephews, John Ulmer (Jodi) of Buffalo and Steven Ulmer (Pia) of Seattle. Also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lynn Steward Tacik, who he married on March 25, 1972 and who died on September 25, 1994, and by a brother, Eugene Tacik and a sister, Marie Lizik.

Friends received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Av. Mars, PA on Thursday from 3-8 PM. Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 5801 Hampton St. Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (Highland Park). Rev. Bruce Robison, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church. Burial will be in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, Ross Twp., PA.  Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
