Evelyn M. Decker

Evelyn M. Decker age 99 of Valencia, Passed away Friday evening August 4,2023 in the comfort of her home.

Born in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania on April 23,1924, she was the daughter of the late Homer Fritz and Elizabeth” Maude” Schrock Fritz.

Evelyn graduated from Berlin Brothers Valley High School in 1941 and North Hills Passavant School of Nursing in 1971. She was employed as an LPN on the second floor OBGYN Department for 23 years until her retirement. Evelyn was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church; she married Millard M. “Mick” Decker on June 13,1946 and he preceded her in death on November 19,1999.

She is survived by her son; Millard Martin Decker of Kittanning, two daughters; Connie Gmuer and her companion Roger of West Virginia and Cheri Rodgers and her husband Al of Butler.

One granddaughter, Arin Rodgers and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter; Carol Kalkowski, her grandson Tyler Rodgers, and two sisters; Mary Lou Fritz and Catherine Pritts.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday August 8,2023 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. with services to follow with the Rev. Nancy Zahn officiating. Private burial services will take place in the Glade Run Cemetery.
