Evelyn R. DeCarlo

Evelyn R. De Carlo, of Hempfield Twp., stepped into Eternity on Friday, May 9, 2025. Evie is finally reunited with her beloved husband Frank J., and her son Frank V., who each preceded her in death. Evie came into the world at the end of the Great Depression, in Webster, WI., the youngest child of Vernon and Clara Rose Erickson, and little sister of Vern (Billie) Erickson Jr., Raymond (Hazel) Erickson, and Corinne (Fred) Wachlar.

Evie is survived by her daughter Diane Giansante (Stephen Spear), daughter-in-law Michele DeCarlo, and grandsons Chris (Hilary) DeCarlo and Sean (Judi) DeCarlo, and great-granddaughter Sophie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families who all have many fun and loving memories of their Aunt Evie.

Evie also leaves behind many very good friends that she has gathered in her 93 years, across several jobs,  moves and travels around the country.

Evie’s family would like to thank the aides and nurses at St. John’s Specialty Care in Mars, PA., who cared for Mom so warmly and professionally, and the caring friends she made among her fellow residents.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. The construction of the Chief Crazy Horse Monument was a project near and dear to Evie’s heart.

Evelyn’s cremation and subsequent internment with Frank at Fort Snelling Military Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN, have been arranged by McDonald – Aeberli Funeral Home, Mars, PA.
