Etha (Cookie) Lila Wolfe, 79 passed away peacefully in her daughter & son-in-law’s home in Evans City, PA on Friday, November 11th 2022 after a ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Cookie was born on April 22, 1943 to the late, John David Payne and Etha Lila Payne of Gibsonia, PA. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary K. Yoakum, son, Timothy C. Yoakum, sister Judith Bierau and brother-in-law, Bill Bierau.
She is survived by her husband Michael J. Wolfe, daughters Deborah (George) Frishkorn, & Holly (Tim) McKenna, step-daughter, Daelyn Pronesti, two brothers; John (Pat) Payne & Fred (Sheri) Payne, and numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Cookie was a dedicated employee of the Mars Boro for over twenty-five years. She was the smiling face that greeted everyone and managed the boro office.
When able, she enjoyed shopping, gardening, maintaining her koi pond, bowling, and spoiling her children and grandchildren. During her later years, Cookie was happiest when surrounded by her family and her dog, Kati.
Cookie was known best for her generous heart, youthful & fun personality, contagious laugh and her signature red fingernails.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 14th from 5-7PM at McDonald - Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc, 238 Crowe Avenue, Mars, PA. Following will be a private service and celebration of life.
