Erwood Henry McCormick, Jr., better known as Mac, of Germantown, TN, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023.
He grew up in Valencia, PA, he was the son of Erwood and Sara McCormick.
Mac was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, and friend. He was a long-time member of Whitehaven Presbyterian Church and Central Church. Graduating from Memphis State University with his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he was a life-long Tiger supporter.
He taught and coached with the Memphis City Schools over 30 years, with the last 20 years teaching Driver’s Education. Born and raised outside Pittsburgh, PA, he was an avid fan of all things Pittsburgh. Mac was also a tenured member of the McDonald’s/Germantown Center coffee club.
Mac was survived by his two children; April Robinson (Bill), Mike McCormick (Stacey), one brother, Chuck McCormick, one sister, Melissa McBride, and five grandchildren; Zac Robinson, Alex Robinson, Michael Robinson, Will McCormick, and Baker McCormick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley McCormick, one brother, George McCormick, and one sister, Judy Vogel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
