Elizabeth M. "Liz" (Purcell) Lawless

Elizabeth M. "Liz" Lawless, age 82, of Mars, formerly of Wayne, PA, passed away on Thursday morning, April 16, 2020 at St. Barnabas Home in Gibsonia.

Born in County Tipperary, Ireland on April 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Grace Purcell.

Liz had been a clerk for Conrail and more recently worked as a Nanny.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Twp.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Finan (Matthew) of Mars, a son, James J. Lawless (Mary Beth Marcincin) of Bethlehem, PA, her grandchildren, James J. Finan, Eliza Lawless, Shea Lawless, Zachary Lawless and Alec Lawless.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Lawless, who she married on October 1, 1960 and who died on March 3, 1992, by a sister, Marie McGoldrick and by a brother, Albert Purcell.

Liz will forever be remembered as a loving grandmother and friend

A private family viewing and blessing service will be at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA 16046. A Catholic mass and celebration of life will be held at a later time. Condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.  Burial will be in St. Denis Church Cemetery, Havertown, PA.
