It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edith Dorothy McGough, age 90, of Cranberry Township. She went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Kress Farnan. Edith grew up in Homewood, Pennsylvania.
Edith was known for her fun sense of humor, and her ability to make every gathering full of laughter. She truly enjoyed the simple things in life. She was often playing pranks on her family members, drawing silly comics to make her grandkids laugh, and was always gathering everyone together to play games. Edith was young at heart.
Edith was loved by many people. Up until her death she was still meeting monthly for lunch with her girlfriends from high school, and she had many cousins she remained close to.
Edith had retired from AT&T in Pittsburgh where she was a telephone operator for many years.
Baptized in the Christian church, Edith was a member of LifePointe Alliance Church where she previously served in the administrative office.
Edith loved to serve and take care of the people in her life.
Edith had just celebrated 68 years of a happy marriage with her husband Harry D. McGough, whom she married on May 4, 1957. They have known each other for 75 years.
Edith is also survived by her daughter, Diane Dunlap and her husband Roger of Cranberry Twp., two sons, Eric McGough currently living in Milpitas California and Robert McGough residing in Cranberry Twp., and her grandchildren, Michael, Monica, Cheri, Kevin, Jason, and Scott. Edith was preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law Kyong Suk McGough.
We are so thankful that Edith was healthy and had such a good quality of life up until her last day. She will be truly missed. The world will be a little less fun, silly, and bright without Edith McGough.
