Dorothy Rothert Obituary

Dorothy F. Rothert, age 88, of Adams Twp., Valencia, passed away on Saturday morning, October 8, 2022 at North Hills Health and Rehab in Wexford.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy Bischoff Doerr.

Dorothy had been a Registered Dietician with the Butler Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the American Dietetic Association.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church, serving as a Eucharistic minister and advocate for the disabled. She enjoyed driving the ARC youth to their Friday night dances.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a fearless trailblazer. Her wild antics brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She was so grateful for the simplest things, a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone.

Dorothy saw beauty in EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. She lived her life in service to her family, her community and her Savior. Dorothy gave selflessly, loved unconditionally and prayed fervently.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Rothert (Rhonda) of O'Hara Twp., Charles Rothert (Angie) of Dallas, TX and Brian Rothert of Valencia, five daughters, Michelle Plinta (Charles) of Slippery Rock, Kristen Zuschlag (Robert) of Elijay, GA, Karyn Long (Thomas) of Melbourne, FL, Celeste Barber (David) of Valencia and Amy Micklow (Alexander) of O'Hara Twp., 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister, Janet Kersting of Mt. Oliver and a sister-in-law, Judy Doerr of Mars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Rothert, who she married on July 12, 1958 and who died on July 28, 1990, and by her brother, Frank Doerr. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, close friend and partner in crime, Delores Wise.

There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM, with Fr.
