Dorothy E. (Erdner) Delp

Dorothy E. Delp, age 100, of Mars, formerly of Cranberry Twp. and Avalon, PA, passed away on Sunday morning, May 17, 2026, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Bellevue, PA on February 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Edith Glasser Erdner.

Dorothy was the co-owner of Avalon Beer Distributor, which she and her husband operated for 32 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon and most recently St. John Lutheran Church in Mars.

Wife of the late Robert H. Delp, who she married on July 23, 1948 and who died on November 28, 2011, mother of Christine Bernett (James) of Economy Boro, Cindy Havko (Edward) of Spokane, WA, Greg E. Delp (Kim) of Economy Boro and the late Gary R. Delp, grandmother of Aaron, Allison, Mitchell, Jennifer, Jamie, Michael, Abigail, Robert, Nathan and Harper, great grandmother of Hanna, Molly, Lana, Benjamin, Maddie and Ryan and nieces and nephews.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Baacke, Edith Munk, Margaret Diroll, Anna Deckenbach and Sophia Pike and by her brothers, Paul, Joe, John and Ed Erdner.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 PM. Services will follow at 7:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Katie McNeal, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Avalon Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
