Doris E. "Emmy" (Lewis) Shiperly

Doris E. "Emmy" Shiperly, age 94, of Mars, formerly of Middlesex Twp., passed away on Thursday morning, April 2, 2026 at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Rochester Mills, Indiana County, PA on March 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Sarah Tyger Lewis.

Emmy was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills.

Surviving are her son, James W. Shiperly (Elizabeth) of Mars, a daughter, Sally Shiperly Ault (Donald) of Loris, SC, a grandson Max James Sundquist of Loris, SC , a step-daughter, Rita Wicht (Steve) in Florida, a sister, Rosie Hicks and a brother, Pete Lewis.  She is also survived by several step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Shiperly, who she married in 1961 and who died on January 31, 2013, by her sisters, Marylou Griffith, Jean Ryan and Blanche Lewis and by a brother, David Lewis.

A graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carnegie is being planned and will be announced. Memorials may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd. Renfrew, PA 16053.
