Donald Trapp Obituary

Donald Trapp, age 87, of Valencia, Middlesex Twp., passed away on Thursday evening, June 11, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Costa Mesa, CA on February 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Earl and Josephine Weingart Trapp.

Don was a heavy equipment mechanic for Union Local #66.

He attended the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church in Butler and drove for South Butler Community Meals on Wheels.

An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Richland American Legion Post #548 and was a volunteer at the Butler Veterans Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Sheri Valasek (Dan) of Butler, two sons, William Trapp (Karen) of Middlesex Twp., and Michael D. Trapp (Gayle) of West Newton, his grandchildren, Amanda Stavish (Joe), Kathryn Koch (Ed), Donald Trapp (Abby), Heather Trapp and Ashley and Derek Valasek, his great grandchildren, Addyson and Henry Koch, Joey, Ben and Stanley Stavish and Lennon and Marley Trapp, a sister, Cathy Swanek (Jim) in Oregon and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Brooks Trapp, who he married on March 29, 1959 and who died on April 15, 2012, by a sister, Mary Kincaid and by a brother, Earl Trapp.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A graveside service with military honors will be on Monday at 11:00 AM at Mt. Royal Cemetery, 2700 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA. Memorials may be made to the Richland American Legion Post #548, P.O. Box 171, Bakerstown, PA 15007.. Please meet at the cemetery.
