Obituary

Chester C. Whittam, age 93, of New Sewickley Twp., formerly of Schenectady, N.Y., passed away on Monday afternoon at his home.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y. on March 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Herbert and Emma Kircher Whittam.

Chester was a self-employed carpenter.

He proudly served as a Sargeant in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.

He enjoyed hunting.

Father of Paul Whittam (Carol) of Orchard Park, N.Y., Chester C. "Chet" Whittam, Jr. (Laurie) of New Sewickley Twp., with who he resided, Joseph Whittam (Denise) of Saugerties, N. Y., Michael Whittam (Phyllis) of Wilton, N.Y. and Lisa O'Brien (Michael) of Pawlett, Vermont, thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisabeth Longo Whittam, who he married on October 1, 1950 and who passed away on March 27, 2019 and by a brother, Herbert Whittam.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Additional visitation is being scheduled at the Glenville Funeral Home in Glenville, N.Y. Burial will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
