Charles R. “Chuck” Aiken, age 75, of Mars, passed away on Sunday morning, May 5, 2024 in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side.
Born in Tarentum, PA on March 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul and Theresa Belle Aiken.
He was a truck driver for Purvis Brothers in Mars and for Ferguson Fire and Fabrication in Freedom. He also worked as an assembler for Strutz’s in Mars.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Cranberry Twp.
He enjoyed hunting and camping with his brothers in Tionesta, but most valued the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Bernadine C. “Bernie” Ghezzi Aiken, who he married on September 13, 1969, father of Pauline Novotny (Andy Blough) of Mars, Mandy Aiken (Bo Owori) of Adams Ridge and the late Charles “Chuckie” Aiken, grandfather of Nathan and Megan Novotny and Luca and Sofia Ruete, brother of Pauline Kramer of Valencia, Melvin Aiken of Valencia, Russell Aiken (Billie) of Mars, Brian Aiken (Jane) of Valencia and nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 9:30 until Mass time at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Reynoldsville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chuck’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
