Beverly (Richards) Thornton

Beverly Richards Thornton, age 96, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026 at Lutheran Senior Life Passavant Community in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.  Born in Hagerstown, Maryland on December 9, 1929 to Lloyd and Loretta Richards, Beverly married William (Bill) Thornton on November 6, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland.  They were married for 57 years until Bill died on January 1, 2006.

Beverly spent her career in banking, and retired from PNC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran Senior Life, particularly the nurses and aids in the Brandywine household, as well as the staff of VNA, for their compassionate care and support while Beverly was a resident.

Beverly leaves behind daughters:  Wendy Thornton Gillette, Terri Hammerschmitt, and grandson Christopher McCrum (wife Joelle).
