Betty Danner Obituary

Betty P. Danner, age 85, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 6, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, with her family at her side.

Born in Middlesex Twp., PA on February 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Maude E. Martin Park.  Growing up in a large Christian, faithful farming family, she learned the value of hard work, sacrifice and serving others.

Betty graduated from Mars High School in 1953. She had worked at Farmer’s Bank in Pittsburgh and later worked as a teller at the former Bakerstown Savings and Loan.

She married Bob Danner on March 12, 1954.  As they built their first home, she developed a love of flowers, growing plants and landscaping. A nurturer at heart, she loved baking, working outdoors whether mowing grass, tending her flower beds or feeding the birds and hosting family gatherings. Many in the family and friends alike, spoke with “HIGH PRAISE” if you were on the receiving end of her homemade cookies or sweet rolls.

Over the last 40 years, between work and raising her family-she cared for son, Jeff, her parents, an aunt, Gladys Painter, and she also assisted the families of her brothers, Bob and Dean Park as well as her sister, Marjory as they worked through their own health adversities.  Betty cared for her husband, Bob, after a serious car accident 12 years ago. Many remarked, “she was the first one they received a card or a phone call from” when trouble struck and how much her support meant to each of them.

Betty and Bob facilitated the Jeff Danner Memorial Scholarship at Mars High School for 35 years, including the popular alumni basketball games fundraiser each December. Betty attended the Mars United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Mars Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, Robert W. Danner, a daughter, Valerie “Val” Danner of Valencia, two sons, Craig Danner (Sunshine) of Valencia and Dave Danner (Debbie) of Saxonburg, her grandchildren, Matt Danner (Darah), Nichole Babka (Shaun), and Ethan Danner (Olivia), her great grandchildren, Ella Babka, Maiva, Myla and Maklin Danner, her sister, Marge Adams and her family and her brother, Wayne Park (Roma) and his family, and her brother, Jim Park (Richmond, VA) and his family, as well as many nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Danner and by her brothers, Bob and Dean Park.

The family would also like to extend its sincere“THANKS” to her nurses, Nadine and Christine who provided Betty’s home care.  “THANKS” also to the doctors and staff at GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPICE of Cabot for their support and care.

As requested by her family, there will be no visitation or service at this time due to COVID 19. A “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are private under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
