Barbara Krug Obituary

Barbara Krug (formerly Trybus), age 72, died peacefully surrounded by Angels on July 10, 2020 at St. John’s Specialty Care in Mars, Pa.

Barbara was born in Barnesboro (Northern Cambria), Pa, to John and Helen Trybus.  She graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg, Pa in 1965.  She went on to graduate from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Altoona, Pa, in 1968.  She married Richard Krug (Loretto, Pa) at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Barnesboro, Pa in 1968.

Barbara left a lasting influence as a loving mother, grandma, wife, daughter, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend.  She was a dedicated nurse who was known for going above and beyond to provide compassionate care for others during their most difficult times.  She was a steadfast, inspirational leader amongst colleagues and had an accomplished career in home care nursing management.  She was proud to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Carlow University at the age of 53 while working full time.  One of her most cherished positions was with friends at Community Nursing Service in Hastings and Johnstown, Pa.  Her nursing experience spanned over 40 years of caring for others, including her family.

After retirement, she joyfully embarked on a second full time career as an adoring grandmother, dedicated all her time and loving care to her family.  Her children are eternally grateful for her unwavering support and the many precious memories made with her.  Her loving embrace will live on forever in their hearts and those of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rick Krug and Sharon (Marshall) Kohnen and her grandchildren, Seth, Averie, & John Krug and Colby, Carter, & Colin Kohnen, all of Mars, Pa.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen, her husband Richard, and her infant granddaughter Hannah Grace.

The family would like to thank the staff of Paramount Senior Living, St. John’s Specialty Care and AHN Hospice.

No public service or memorial is scheduled at this time.  If family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh, http://www.adrc.pitt.edu/volunteer/donate/ or ADRC Administrator, University of Pittsburgh, UPMC Montefiore, Four West, 200 Lothrop Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-2582.

On Angel's Wings you were taken away,
But in my heart you will always stay.
I will hear your whisper in the tallest trees,
Feel your love in the gentle breeze.
And when I find I miss you the most,
Inside our beautiful memories
I will hold you close.
You are an angel watching over me
with the comfort and blessings you bring,
You embrace my heart and hold it close,
Forever on Angel's Wings
