Obituary

Barbara L. Eckert, age 81, of Butler, formerly of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, passed away on Saturday morning, June 18, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in McKeesport, PA on November 12, 1940, she was the daughter of  the late John and Louise Goss Sheaffer.

A homemaker, Barb was a member of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown.

Since August of 2021, Barb has resided at New Haven Court in Butler and loved her new home and the people there.

Surviving are her sons, Dirk C. Eckert and his wife, Pam of West Sunbury and Eric W. Eckert and his wife, Jenny of Sarver, her grandchildren, Wayne and Alyshia and her brother, Craig Sheaffer and his wife, Sherry of Frewsburg, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne C. Eckert, who she married on August 20, 1960 and who died on October 6, 2020 and by her brother, Jack Sheaffer.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 Noon, with a service to follow at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Twp., PA. Memorials may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd. Renfrew, PA 16053.
