Alexander John "A.J." "Al" Rick, Jr.

Alexander John “A.J.” “Al” Rick, Jr., age 81 of Middlesex Twp., formerly of Bradford Woods and Mars, passed away on Saturday afternoon at his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Alexander John and Olga Dobzy Rick.

A.J. was a proud 60 plus year member of Electrical Worker’s Union Local 5 in Pittsburgh. He and his brother had owned A.J. Rick Electrical Contractors and later worked for Kirby Electric for 15 years.

He was a social member of Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 and had attended the Mars United Presbyterian Church.

He was an avid wood worker.

Surviving are his wife, Carole Brun Rick, who he married on January 23, 1965, his sons, Alexander John Rick, III and his wife, Christine of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Sean J. Rick and his wife, Leslie of Valencia, his grandchildren, Colleen Parkey and her husband, Cody and Sara Rick, and his great grandchildren, Easton Rick Parkey and Kennedy Renee Parkey.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Rick and his brother, Robert Rick.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Brian Hauser, pastor, officiating. Memorials in his memory may be made in honor of his granddaughter, Maggie to the Leukemia Society.
