Alexander P. "Al" Janis

Alexander P. “Al” Janis, age 87, of Economy Boro, passed away on Sunday evening, June 26, 2022 at Sunrise of McCandless.

Born in McKees Rocks, PA on January 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Peter L. and Mary Anastasia Ewanco Janis.

Al had been a Steel Worker for J. & L. Steel/LTV Steel in both Aliquippa and Midland. He later worked for KTA-Tator, Inc. in Coraopolis until retirement.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Conway and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War from January 20, 1955 to January 18, 1957.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda K. Janis of Zelienople and Theresa E Goudie (Robert) of Reston, VA, a son, Michael S. Janis (Angela Lamb) of Alliance, Ohio, his grandsons, Christopher Janis (Calley Wenum and her daughter, Emma) and Andrew Janis and his great granddaughter, Amber Janis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth I. “Betty” McCombs Janis, who he married on May 2, 1959 and who died on June 15, 2015 and by his brother, Theodore Janis.

Family and friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday, June 30th   from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and a Chapel Service at Pinewood Memorial Park, Rt. 19, Cranberry Twp., PA on Friday at 11:00 AM.
