A. Ray Farringer, age 101, of Mars, passed away on Friday evening, June 6, 2025 at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars, a few weeks from his 102nd birthday, with his family at his side.
Born in Franklin, PA on July 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Irwin and Agnes Shunk Farringer.
He had served in the United States Army Air Corps during W.W. II, and was a member of Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.
Ray was a structural layout man for American Bridge, Dravo, Howard Patterson and Woodwards.
He was a founding member of the Mars Rod and Gun Club and was a member of LifePointe Alliance Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Barbara Yoakum of Mars, his son, James Farringer (Terri) of Blawnox, his grandchildren, Robert “Rob” Fester, Jonathan James “J.J.” Farringer and his great grandchildren, Josselyn, Alex, Kaitlyn, Colton and Lance, a sister, Maxine Kersey of Valencia and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Mae Shaner Farringer, who he married on June 12, 1943 and who died on April 20, 2015 and by his siblings, Richard “Dick” Farringer, Irwin Farringer, Jr. and Roberta Winner.
Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Rt. 228, Mars, PA 16046. Rev. Paul Cope, officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
