Thomas E. "Tom" Shaw

Thomas E. “Tom” Shaw, Jr., age 79, of Mars, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 2, 2018, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Johnstown, PA on May 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Shaw, Sr. and Ethyle Pink Shaw Steinke.

Tom was the owner of Shaw’s Heating and Cooling and At Your Service, Ltd. in Mars.  He was a member of the Plumber’s and Steamfitters Union.

Tom had served for five years in the United States Navy.

He was a member, Elder and Sunday School Teacher at Mars Alliance Church, now LifePointe Alliance Church, for many years and had also participated in Bible Studies in Mars.

Surviving are his wife, Freda A. Buzard Shaw, who he married on September 5, 1964, two daughters, Heather Schettler (David) and Holly Bradley (Steven) and a son, Thomas Eric Shaw, Sr. (Joeylynn), all of Mars, his grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Jason, Olivia, Darin, Brian, Shannon, Kelly, Tommy and Andrew, and two brothers, John “Jack” Shaw (Judi) of Butler and Charles E. Steinke, Jr. (Mary) of Mars.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 1-4 & 7-9 PM. Additional visitation on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM at the LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046, where services will begin at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jeff Lawther, will officiate.
