Shirley A. (Andrews) Schwarz

Shirley A. Schwarz, age 83, of Mars, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 22, 2018 in the comfort of her home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alden J. and Mabel Wachter Andrews.

A homemaker, Shirley had been a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.  An active church member and worker, she had taught Sunday School for 35 years.

She spent 13 years counseling and directing children’s camps at Westminster Highlands and was a Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Den Mother.  She enjoyed camping and quilting.

Surviving are three sons, David W. Schwarz of Parrish, FL, Daniel L. Schwarz of Pittsburgh and Thomas S. Schwarz of Mars. Grandmother of Tiffany and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Schwarz, who she married on July 20, 1957 and who died on September 5, 1994.

There will be no calling hours.  Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Jerry Mahaffey, a family friend, officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service at the church.  Burial in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA.  Memorials to the Arthritis Foundation.
