Robert Moag, Jr. Obituary

Robert L. Moag, Jr., age 93, of McCandless Twp., passed away on Monday evening, November 26, 2018 at his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Margaret Moag, Sr.

Robert had served in the United States Army during W.W. II from 1944 until 1946 and then served in the Army Reserves with the 377th Engineering Company in Butler until 1963, reaching the Rank of Master Sgt. He was a member of the Wexford American Legion and the V.F.W.

He had worked for the Mon-Con Railroad as a Conductor for 38 years.

Bob enjoyed reading and playing the organ.

Surviving are two step-daughters, Carol Mack (Edwin) of Valencia and Charlotte Miller (Dan) in Maryland, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, his loving companion of many years, Joan Whitehead of McCandless Twp., a brother, Clifford (Shirley) in Virginia and two sisters, Lorna and Gayla (Paul) in Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Raith Moag, a brother, James Moag and a great granddaughter, Lauren Hawthorne.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Blessing Service will follow at 8:00 PM.  Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp. Memorials may be made to the Northern Tier Library, 4015 Dickey Rd.
