Raymond E. Hackworth, age 84, of Pine Twp., Wexford, passed away on Monday morning, September 25, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Bauerstown, PA on April 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Henry and Anna Shepard Hackworth.

Raymond was an installation supervisor for Western Electric, now A.T. & T.

He was a member and former board president and trustee at St. John Lutheran Church in Mars.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a reconnaissance photographer on a B-36 Bomber attached to the Strategic Air Command.

Surviving are his wife, Geneva Oesch Hackworth, who he married on October 13, 1956, a daughter, Kathleen Schnelle (Steven) of Cranberry Twp., three sons, Robert Hackworth (Tracy) of Sandy, Utah, Edward Hackworth (Ruth) of Dublin, Ohio, and Matthew Hackworth (Melissa) of Sumter, S.C., his grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Nicholas, Christian, Emily, Ashley, Jacob, Colin and Abigail, his great grandchildren, Austin and Alex, and a sister, Anna Marie Ruzomberka of Millvale.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Donald and Henry Hackworth.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Beaver St. Mars, PA 16046, with Rev. Robert Zimmerman, pastor, officiating.  Please meet at the church. Burial will be in Mt.
