I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mr. Hackworth's passing. While I did not know him for very long, I was always delighted to be in his company. He was a very kind and compassionate person, full of laughter and life. He will be dearly missed by all who love him. I was blessed to have met him.

My sincere condolences to Ray's entire family. What a great guy. I am a member of his church. Some members are considered a pillar of the church and that is how I saw him. In fact, the last year that he was Council President, I was his Vice President and fellow Trustee. I was truly a newbie volunteering with the church at that time and he set a great example for me and I learned alot from him and respected him greatly and truly looked up to his as an elder church member. From watching him that year I learned enough to serve as president the following year and went on to serve as Council President 3 times. I still serve as Trustee and on Council. He is a shining example of a Servant Leader and I will forever be in his debt in that way. My the Lord give you all His comfort and peace.
