Michael J. Fedak, age 88, of Valencia, formerly of Wilkins Twp., passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Butler Veterans Medical Center, with his family by his side.

Born in Logan’s Ferry, PA on May 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Michael and Suzanne Hornack Fedak.

Michael was an Industrial Arts teacher for the Pittsburgh Public Schools.  He had worked for Mine Safety, Westinghouse and Union Switch and Signal, before his teaching career.

He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills.  In his youth, he had been an altar server at St. Timothy’s Church in Indianola.  He was a member of St. John Fisher and St. Kilian Knights of Columbus.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol.

Surviving are his wife, Norma T. Lukas Fedak, who he married on June 28, 1958, a son, Mark Fedak (Karen) of Ashburn, VA., a daughter, Marylin Rander (Peter) of Mars, and his grandchildren, Rachel, Monica, Jack and Juliana.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Fedak.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E Cruikshank Rd, Butler, PA 16002 on Monday at 10:00 AM with Fr. Robert Cedolia, pastor, officiating. Military Honors will follow. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock. Memorials may be made to the Community Living Center, Inpatient Hospice Care, VA Healthcare, 353 N.
