Michael J. Eperesi, Sr., age 78, of Freedom, formerly of Monaca, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 28, 2017, just 11 days after the death of his beloved wife, Donna, at West Penn Hospital Hospice in Pgh.

Born in Leisenring, Fayette County, PA on January 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Miller Eperesi.   

Michael was a brakeman, car inspector and foreman for the Aliquippa Southern Railroad at J. & L. Steel in Aliquippa. He then worked for N. & T. Railroad in Massilon, Ohio.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He also belonged to the Monaca Center Lions Club and the Polish National Alliance Club of Monaca.

He was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman.  He loved sports and always attended in grandchildren’s sports events.  A season ticket holder since 1969, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and also enjoyed the Pirates.

Surviving are a son, Michael J. Eperesi, Jr., (Lisa) of Mars, two daughters, Carrie Jablunovsky (Nick) of Valencia and Stacie Morrow (Matt) of Economy Boro, his grandchildren, Matthew, Mallory and Sarah Eperesi, Lauren and Alex Jablunovsky and Zachery and Kylee Morrow, two brothers, Edward Eperesi (Paula) of Greensburg and Thomas Eperesi of Leisenring, an uncle, William Eperesi of Cleveland and an aunt, Ann Garcia of Long Island, N.Y., also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Riley Eperesi, who passed away on November 17, 2017 and by a brother, John Eperesi.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 6-8 and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of Blessing Service at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Healthcare at Home” Office of Fund Development, Hospice and Palliative Care, 4818 Liberty Ave. Pgh., PA 15224.
