Mary Steadman Mauney, age 92, of Wexford, PA, formerly of Forest City, N.C., died on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Wife of the late Dr. Richard Grady Mauney, mother of Richard Steadman Mauney in Romania, Charles Stuart Mauney (Ginger) of Greenville, S.C., and Emily Mauney Gingrich (Dr. Jeff) of Wexford, PA., grandmother of Alexandra, Steadman and Grady Mauney, Andrea, Chris, and Andrew Gingrich. Sister of James E. Steadman (Eileen) of Matthews, N.C.  Mary had been a school teacher and homemaker.  She was a member and former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Forest City.  She also volunteered at Rutherford County Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Ghi Ghi, as she was known by her grandchildren, will be remembered for being an avid reader and for her love and devotion to her family and friends. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the First Baptist Church of Forest City, 211 W. Main St. Forest City, N.C. 28043 on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends from 10-11:00 AM at the church.
