Marlyn D. Woodside, age 88, of Mars, formerly of Middlesex Twp., died Thursday evening, May 4, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born in Bellevue, PA on June 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Col. Ivor J. and Elizabeth Gault Davies. She was a 1946 graduate of Oliver High School.

She then graduated from the University of Pgh. School of Nursing, the first in her class-Alpha Summa Cum Laude.  Marlyn had been a Registered Nurse for Butler Hospital and St. Francis Hospital North.

She was a member of Mars A.A.R.P and the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

Mother of Beth McMaster (David) of Valencia and Linda Costa (Martin) of South Park, grandmother of Justin (Vicki), Christy (Jim), Jennifer and Melissa (Andy), great grandmother of Tyler, Lauren, Devlin, Zac (Darby), Shae, Dylan, Austin, Aubrey and Landon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Woodside and her son, Robert Jeffrey Woodside.

The family will greet friends at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Marlyn’s life will follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Gary Weston and Rev. Chris Gibbs, co-officiating. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Rd. Wexford, PA 15090.
