Luvia A. Melnyk, age 82, of Warrendale, died Thursday evening, June 8, 2017 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.

Born in Cranberry Twp., PA on September 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Ina Nolder Koegler.

Luvia had been an assembler for Cross Electronics in Cranberry Twp. for many years and was a member of the Marshall Twp. V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary.

Wife of Raymond Melnyk, who she married on October 2, 1954, mother of Raymond “R.J.” Melnyk (Marla) of Warrendale, grandmother of Max, Melina and Makenna, sister of Deborah Mentel (Harry) of Warrendale and the late Sharon Kovac and Charles Koegler (Barb), sister-in-law of Wayne Kovac and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the Marshall Twp. V.F.D. Meeting Hall, 270 Northgate Dr. Warrendale, PA 15086 on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Her sister, Rev. Deborah Mentel, officiating. The family will greet friends at a reception at the fire hall following the service.
