Karl M. Penrod, age 58, of Mars, passed away on Sunday morning, July 23, 2017 in the comfort of his home.

Born in Butler, PA on February 13, 1959, he was the son of the late Harry and Ada Hinderliter Penrod.

Karl had worked in the maintenance department at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church and the Adams Area Fire District for 9 years when it was the Mars V.F.D.  He had also served as President of Quality E.M.S. for 20 years.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Boyle Penrod, who he married on August 2, 1980, a daughter, Kimberly Schmook of Mars and two sisters, Martha Karch (Regis) of Herman and Brenda Koebler of Renfrew and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry “Butch” Penrod and Lynn Penrod.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from2-4 & 6-8 PM. Services will follow at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
