Judith S. Stough

Judith S. Stough, age 90, of Mars, formerly of Massillon, Ohio, died peacefully Friday evening, September 22, 2017, at Sherwood Oaks. Born in Tulsa, OK on April 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Grant Stanley.

Judith was an entrepreneur at heart as a co-owner of a fashionable dress store, a sales representative for several home sales companies, a real-estate broker as well as spending time as an associate with Sears Roebuck.  .

She attended John Knox Church in N. Canton.  After moving to Cranberry Twp, PA she attended New Community Church in Wexford.   She was a Past Worthy Matron in the Pittsburgh Order of the Eastern Star, a past president of the Massillon Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Red Hat Society of Massillon. She had been active in Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts. 

She volunteered countless hours teaching reading to both adults and children and was a court advocate for the rights of those in need of support.  An avid bridge player at McKinley Club 213, she was a teacher and director as well as Life Master in Bridge. She had a passion for quilting which she shared with friends and family.  She traveled extensively in pursuit of lessons and shows.  She was a past member of Shady Hollow Country Club, Massillon, Ohio.

Her husband, Donald M. Stough, preceded her in death June 27, 2014. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Grant (Donald) of Mars and Ellen Riggle (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, two sons, Darr S. Stough (Lynn) of Suquimish, WA., and Donn Robin Stough (Cyn) of Wadsworth, OH., her grandchildren, Jennifer, Laura, Christopher, Lydia, Heather, Justin, Erin, Greta, Allison and Evan, and 15 great grandchildren.

Friends invited to a Memorial Service at Sherwood Oaks, 100 Norman Dr. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM.The McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA handled the arrangements and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.   Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
