Jeffrey James Kier

Jeffrey James Kier, age 61, of Mars, passed away on Saturday morning, June 9, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 28, 1956, he was the son of the late James Porter and Margaret Louise Dunbar Kier.

Jeff had been a laborer for Madia Homes.

He had been a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church and was a social member of the Mars V.F.W.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy Kinney Kier, who he married on June 27, 1981, two daughters, Jennifer Lyker (Dan) of Valencia and Michelle Mentzer (Michael) of Adams Twp., his grandchildren, Maggie, Audrey, Zachary, Casey, Cameron and Chloe,  a sister, Kathy “Katie” Maitland (Andy) of Valencia, a brother, Marco Kier of Valencia and a sister-in-law, Carol Kier of Valencia.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Gary and James Kier.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Mars V.F.W., 331 Mars-Valencia Rd. Mars, PA from 2-4 PM.  Services will follow at 4:00 PM, followed by a meal.  Rev. Chris Marshall, pastor of New Life Christian Ministries will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
