James S. Hammond

James S. Hammond, age 71, of Mars, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 at his home of natural causes.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 4, 1946, he was the son of the late David and Jean Snyder Hammond.

Jim was a field technician for Siemens Energy in Murrysville.

He had served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and belonged to the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.

Jim was a member for the Mars United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Sentner Hammond, who he married on May 23, 1983, his son, Corey Bishop (Pattie) of Mars, his daughters, Amy Bowers (Robert) of Mars, Andrea Haines of Mars, Ashley Kelvington (Kyle) of Appleton, WI., and Alexis Fraser (Ryan) of Mars, his seven grandchildren, Liza, Lindsey, Laci, Cayden, Addyson, Taylor, and Haylee, a brother, David Hammond of Tuscon, AZ., and two sisters, Jane Adams of Henderson, NV., and Judy Keener of Ft. Myers, FL.

The family will greet friends at a Memorial Visitation and Service at the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 4-6 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
