David J. Toomey Jr.

David J. Toomey, Jr., age 81, of Richland Twp., Gibsonia, passed away on Saturday morning, October 20, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 17, 1937, he was the son of the late David J. and Emma Kellar Toomey, Sr.

Dave was a truck driver for West Penn Laco in Millvale.

He attended the Valencia United Methodist Church, and was a member at the Mars Rod and Gun Club and the Lakevue Racquet Club. He loved his garden, was an avid gardener, enjoyed running and trips to Amish Country. But mostly he loved the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Marion Coon Toomey, who he married on April 12, 1958, by a son, Brian Toomey (Sheryl) of Valencia, his grandchildren, Zackary R. Toomey (Sara) and Lacey Jade Toomey Crawford (Larry), his great grandchildren, Claire, Norah, Larry, Jr., Lindyn, Kyleigh, and Taylor, a brother, Donald Toomey (Rita) and a sister, Daina Foerst (David), also nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Allegheny Health at Home Hospice, and Dr. Robert Gluckman and the staff at Hillman Cancer Center at Passavant Hospital.
