Clotilde A. Braman
September 10, 1929 – March 15, 2018 (Age 88)

Clotilde (Clo) A. Braman, age 88, passed into the presence of the Lord Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Shenango on the Green, New Wilmington, PA.   Born in Greenport, Long Island, NY, September 10, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Henry & Caroline (Schmitt) Karsten of Southold, NY.

Clo is lovingly remembered by her children, Heidi Burford (Chad) of Mars, PA and Paul Braman (Mary) of Canon, GA, along with her grandchildren, Matt (April) Burford, Amy (Bill) Montgomery, Justin (Brittany) Fowler & Rocky Fowler, and great grandchildren, Della & Jacob Burford, Will & Everlyn Montgomery, Olivia Fowler & Harley Fowler, her brother & sister-in-law, niece & nephews and other family members.  Clo is preceded in death by her husband Henry (Hank) Braman 2002 whom she married in 1953, Greenlawn, NY and son Robert W. Braman 2006.

Clo attended Southold H.S., Southold, NY and New Paltz State Teacher’s College, New Paltz, NY.  She taught at Broadway Elementary, Greenlawn, NY and later was Office Mgr for World Book Sales.  Clo sang in numerous choirs & community stage productions in the chorus and as a soloist.  She grew up in her parent’s bakery and blessed everyone with her skill in making decorated cakes, breads & German stollen.  She loved history traveling to US historical sites as well as Germany & Canada and always enjoyed gardening.

Clo met her husband of 49 years at Greenlawn Presbyterian, Greenlawn, NY.  They spent 32 years volunteering there in various capacities.  In 1985 they moved to Lake Hartwell, GA.   At Sharon Presbyterian, Hartwell, GA, Clo served as an Elder, as the Northeast Georgia Presbyterian Women Director, as a missions fund raiser, assisted in the creation of new stained glass windows and was instrumental in the development of the Sharon Columbarium & Memorial Garden.  She also served in community organizations.

At Shenango on the Green Clo was blessed with friends & participated & assisted in many activities.  She sang in the New Wilimington Presbyterian Church Choir and then dedicated Sunday mornings to assist church services for residents at Shenango by Satellite from New Wilmington Presbyterian.

A Celebration of Clo’s life will be held April 7, 2018, 11:00am at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA, with Reverend Paul Cope officiating. An Interment Service will be held June 24, 2018, 2:00pm at Sharon Presbyterian, Hartwell, GA, with Reverend James Lugo officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Presbyterian (Memorial Garden Fund), PO Box 1051, Hartwell, GA 30643. or to Shanango on the Green, Senior CARE FUND,  238 S.
