Charles J. Seipe, Jr., age 84, of Butler, formerly of Mars and Valencia, died unexpectedly of natural causes while turkey hunting on Monday, May 8, 2017. He died in the E.R. at Butler Memorial Hospital. He and his wife spent many winters in Tarpon Springs, FL.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Catherine Gibbons Seipe.

Chuck was a self-employed painting contractor and owner of Seipe Painting.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a Life Member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.

He currently attended the First United Methodist Church of Butler and had been a member of the Mars United Methodist Church.

He was an avid hunter, especially groundhogs, deer, turkeys, bear and elk.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Wheeler Seipe, who he married on July 18, 1958, three daughters, Catherine Oxendale (Mark) of Grove City, Nancy Sperry (Daniel) of Powder Springs, GA and Carol Young (Bradley) of New Sewickley Twp., his grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Noah Oxendale and Joshua and Jessica Sperry, a great grandson, Cade Sperry, a sister, Sarah Blystone of Conneaut Lake,  a sister-in-law, Carol Wheeler of Mars, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Fester, his brothers-in-law, Harold “Peaches” Fester, James Blystone and Earl Wheeler.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff Lawther, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
