Virginia Z. “Ginny” Novak, age 89, of Butler, formerly of Middlesex Twp., passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Millvale, PA on July 29, 1927, she is the daughter of the late Leo H. and Helene Steigerwald Zwigart.

Ginny had worked as a sales clerk for Kaufmann’s in North Hills for 19 years and had been a receptionist for WIC and the Housing Authority with the Butler Senior Aid program.

She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church and was an avid reader.

Surviving are three daughters, Daryl Lynn Mikolay of Summit Twp., Michele Laskey (Lenny) of Prospect and Jennifer Lee Jones (Robert) in N.C., a son, Ronald Eugene Novak (Ruth Ann Wilkins) of Middlesex Twp., 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene N. Novak, who she married on September 6, 1947 and who died on July 19, 1979, and by two sister, Mary Rita Tobalski and Altheda Smith.
