Viola Marie Zimmerman, age 55, of Mars, died Monday evening, August 8, 2016 at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Butler, PA on August 19, 1960, she was the daughter of Helen A. Burr Howell of Mars and the late Edward G. Howell.

Viola had been a bartender, cook and server at Conley’s on Rt. 8.  She also had worked at Con Yeager Spice Company and Primanti Brothers in Cranberry Twp.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars.

Surviving are her husband, Charles L. Zimmerman, a daughter, Joselyn A. Howell (Levard Steele) of Charlotte, N.C., a son, Joshua E. Zimmerman of Mars, a grandson, Kamryn Nike Steele, her mother, Helen A. Howell of Mars, a sister, Linda Cypher (Lewis) of Butler, and two brothers, David Howell (Gail) of Mars and Tom Howell (Sherry) of West Cliff, CO.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on  Friday from 2-4 & 7-8:30 PM. Services will follow at 8:30 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Zimmerman, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd, Renfrew, PA 16053 or the Mars Public Library, P.O.
