T. Jane Smith, age 91, of Mars, died Saturday evening, June 17, 2017 at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Barclay Ehrhart.

Jane was had worked in the laundry at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars for 16 years.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars and was a Charter Member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 Ladies Auxiliary and also belonged to the Mars American Legion Auxiliary and the Mars AARP.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia J. Smith of Mars, a son, Fred M. Smith (Kathleen) of Shrewsbury, PA, her grandchildren, Krystle Smith and Justin, Evan and Johanna Smith, a brother-in-law, Donald Stewart of Zelienople and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Smith, who she married on November 23, 1950 and who died on August 8, 2016, and by her siblings, William J. Ehrhart, Dorothy Edinger, Esther Gillis, Rosella Lawther, Marlene Lackey, Amelia Stewart and Ida Mae Feathers.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Zimmerman, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA.
