Robert J. “Bob” Stockman, Sr., age 90, of Mars, died Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2017, in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry and Rosalia Abel Stockman.

Bob had been a sheet metal worker for the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union 12 for 67 years.  He was a founding member of the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Pittsburgh.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Twp.  He had served in the United States Navy in the Philippines during W.W. II, where he had been trained as a frogman.

Bob had also been a farmer and was an avid outdoorsman.

Surviving are a daughters, Lynn Fey (Joseph) of Valencia, three sons, Robert J. Stockman, II, (Linda) of McCandless,  John “Jack” Stockman of Mars and James “Jim” Stockman of Emlenton,  his grandchildren, Bridget, Megan and Paul and his great grandchildren, Rafferty, Maggie and Owen, a brother, John “Jack” Stockman (Dee) of Chippewa, two sisters, Rosalia “Zel” Brown in California and Mercedes “Cede” Kremmel (Albert) of Pgh., a sister-in-law, Betty Stockman in Minnesota, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Miller Stockman, who he married on June 17, 1950 and who died on May 14, 2012, by two daughters, Patricia Ann and Kathleen “Kathy” Stockman and by a brother, Ralph Stockman.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA  16066 on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery.
