Robert G. Pender, age 73, of Mars, passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 14, 1944, he was the son of the late John and Florence Langsdale Pender.

Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Pitsburgh Bulk Mail Center and was a mail carrier in Leetsdale for 8 years.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church, where he had been an usher and participated in the Bible Study.  He was also a board member of the Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable.

Bob had also served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie E. Brindle Pender, who he married on August 19, 1967, a son, Robert M. Pender (Vicky) of Jefferson Twp., a daughter, Kathleen A. Barcus of Ellwood City, his grandchildren, Dylan M. Barcus, and Morgan and Ethan Pender, and two brothers, Gerald Pender (Celeste) of Portersville and John Pender (Charlotte “Becky”) of Ashland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Mroz.
