Robert L. Hillard, age 88, of Mars, formerly of Lady Lake, FL and Uniontown, died on Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 2016 at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Mars, PA on July 9, 1928, he was the son of the late Raymond and Freda Iola Groom Hillard.

Bob retired in 1990 as a Supervisor at the Pennsylvania American Water Company in Uniontown/Connelsville.

He had served as a Sgt. in the United States Army during W.W. II., and was a life member of the John E. Mair Lodge 729, F. & A.M. in Mars, the Consistry-Valley of Pittsburgh., and was a life member of the American Water Works Association.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Dendas of Nazareth and Robyn Snyder and her husband, Terry, of Jackson, WY,   two sons, Raymond Hillard and his wife, Mandy of  St. Charles, Ill.,  and Randall Hillard and his wife, Carol, of Baldwin Boro,  a sister, Mary Virginia Garrard of Augusta, Maine and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hill Hillard, who he married on April 29, 1949 and who died on November 8, 2012.
