Kenneth W. “Moose” McKinney, age 78, of Mars, died unexpectedly on Monday evening, February 6, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy Councilman McKinney.

Moose was an inspector for Equitable Gas, where he had worked for 51 Years.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church, a social member of Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 and also belonged to the “It’s All About the Warrior Foundation”.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Mill McKinney, who he married on February 3, 1968, his children, Allyson Ashley (Merrell) of Annandale, VA and Todd McKinney (Kristy) of Mars, his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adam, Ian and Chase, his sister, Barbara and Bonnie and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Friday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church.
