Joanne E. Fichter Herb, age 69, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, died Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 22, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Sweepe Fichter.

Joann was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and her ceramic club. She especially loved her cats.

She attended CrossWay Church.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Y. Herb, who she married on August 21, 1976, two daughters, Carrie Ann Herb of Valencia and Christine Louise Herb of Butler, a grandson, Jayden Herb, two sisters, Lori Good of Marshall Twp., and Lynn Gmuer (Fred) of Shaler, and a brother, Scott Leight of Pine Twp. A sister-in-law, Ruth Frey (the late Vernon) of Dorseyville, a brother-in-law, Rick Noel of Pgh., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathie Noel.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
