Jessie Louise Schlemmer

Jessie Louise Schlemmer, age 73, of Valencia, passed away on Thursday morning, April 5, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born in Buffalo, New York on September 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Larue McConnaughey Andrews, her mother formerly of Sportsburg, PA.

A 1966 graduate of Houghton College, Jessie was a retired elementary school teacher; she taught in Holland, NY and Monroeville, PA.

For many years, Jessie was the Children’s Ministry Teacher at Mars Alliance Church, now LifePointe Alliance Church.

Jessie loved her family, her household bunnies, and shared a special love for ‘her kids’ in Junior Church. She was an avid walker in her neighborhood whom delighted in the neighbors she met along the way.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Schlemmer, who she married on July 4, 1968; a son, Joshua Schlemmer of North Tonawanda, NY; a grandson, Jayden Schlemmer; and a sister Glenda (Danny) Cook of Stanwood, WA.

Friends will be received at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 PA-228, Mars, PA 16046 on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00 until the time of service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Paul Cope officiating.
