Earl D. Painter, age 83, of Clinton Twp., Valencia, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Pitcairn, PA on June 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Beryl and Lily Mae Simpson Painter.

Earl had been a programmer for IBM and was a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and volunteering for South Butler Community Meals on Wheels.

He had served in the United States Army at Ft. Bragg, where he was a paratrooper.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 62 years, Marion Farrow Painter, who he married on June 13, 1955, his children, Sue Denmead (Denny) of Washington, PA, Val Joe Painter (Deanna) of Fairfield, PA and Floyd Painter (Laura) of Penn Twp., his grandchildren, Danielle, Grady, Adam, Grant, Brad, Jenny and Steve and his great grandchildren, Ethan and Kherington.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Painter and Phyllis Bates.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 5-8 PM. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pgh. Rd. Valencia, PA 16059, with Rev. Greg Wiest, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Twp. Memorials may be made to South Butler Community Meals on Wheels, 1091 Pgh. Rd. Valencia, PA 16059.
